Collin Summerlin

Career

According to the firm, Summerlin spent the first part of his career representing corporations and insurance companies at a long-established defense firm in the Southeast, which the firm's pages do not name. His work there centered on construction and professional liability cases. The firm says that work involved depositions and mediations, settlement negotiations, and a role in large jury trials.^[1][2]

A passage on his biography page, written in the first person, says that his years on the defense side taught him how corporate defendants and their insurers prepare for trial, and that he now builds cases carefully and stays ready to try them when the other side will not deal fairly. The page does not give the year he joined Flanagan Law.^[1]

Education

Summerlin earned his J.D. at Washington University in St. Louis School of Law. His biography lists a Scholar in Law scholarship, service as a staff editor of the Washington University Jurisprudence Review, participation in the Wiley Rutledge Moot Court Competition and membership in the Health Law Society.^[1]

He holds an A.B. in public health and economics from Brown University. The biography says that at Brown he took part in Brown Motion Pictures and the Brown Table Tennis Club and completed a capstone project, a systematic review of the role of firearms in suicide in the United States.^[1]
