Truck accident cases are one of the eleven practice areas of Flanagan Law, P.C., and the firm's brand profile calls truck and 18-wheeler litigation its signature work. The firm's truck accident page covers crashes with tractor-trailers and other commercial vehicles, including flatbeds, dump trucks, fleet pickups and delivery vans.[7][2]

The largest result the firm publishes, the 2025 Fulton County verdict in Nguyen v. TIAG, came in a wrongful death trucking case. That verdict is on appeal: two related appeals were pending in the Court of Appeals of Georgia when their dockets were checked on October 16, 2026.[4][8][5][6]

Results described on this page are summarized from the cited sources. Past results do not guarantee a similar outcome, and every matter depends on its own facts and law.
Crashes the firm handles
The firm's practice areas index says commercial vehicle crashes most often involve 18-wheelers or company vans and trucks, and that its lawyers work with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, which govern most commercial vehicles in Georgia and elsewhere in the United States.[9]
The truck page lists the kinds of crash the firm investigates: jackknifes, underride collisions in which a car goes beneath a trailer, blind spot crashes, wide-turn collisions at intersections, rollovers, tire blowouts and brake failures, rear-end collisions by loaded trucks, and delivery and box truck crashes on surface streets.[2]
Parties the firm looks to
According to the truck page, a car crash usually involves one driver and one insurance policy, while a truck crash may involve several defendants and layers of coverage. The page names the truck driver; the trucking company, for its driver's conduct on the job and for its own choices on hiring, training, scheduling and maintenance; a broker, shipper or cargo loader when freight is loaded badly; and a maintenance contractor or parts maker when brakes, tires or steering fail.[2]
The firm's August 2026 press release makes the same point in general terms, listing the driver's employer, the vehicle owner, a maintenance contractor, a freight broker and the company that loaded the cargo as parties that may share responsibility.[10]

Records and evidence
The firm says it sends a spoliation letter, a written demand to preserve evidence, in the first week of a case and sometimes on the first day, because trucking companies are allowed to erase some records on a schedule. The records it names include the engine control module, which stores speed, braking and throttle data from the seconds before impact; electronic logging device data on the driver's hours; the driver qualification file; drug and alcohol testing records; maintenance and inspection history; dispatch and phone records; and cargo paperwork.[2]
The page adds that the firm retains accident reconstruction experts when fault is disputed and, in serious cases, trucking safety experts. In the firm's account of Nguyen v. TIAG, the tractor-trailer was scrapped before the family's experts could inspect it, the airbag control module was taken from Nguyen's car and never seen again, and the trial court later issued an order on spoliation.[2][8]

Published trucking results
The firm reports the following truck and commercial vehicle results. Each is its own account unless another source is cited.[4][10][3]
- Nguyen v. TIAG, Fulton County, 2025. TopVerdict.com lists the verdict at $98,068,719, and the firm describes it as $99.9 million. Published sources describe Brendan Flanagan as having served on the plaintiff's trial team. Appeals A27A0339 and A27A0340 were pending as of October 16, 2026.[11][4][12][13][5][6]

- Delivery truck, Gwinnett County, 2024. The firm says another lawyer referred the case, that the investigating officer cited the delivery truck driver, and that it recovered the full $1 million policy for an injured father.[14][4]
- Commercial vehicle collision, announced August 11, 2026. The firm says it resolved the case for $2.5 million.[10]
- Sideswipe by an 18-wheeler on an Atlanta interstate, announced September 29, 2026. The firm says the carrier's insurer paid the full settlement demand in under ten months. The amount was not disclosed.[3]
Approach and fees as the firm states them
The truck page says Brendan Flanagan handles each case from start to finish rather than handing it to a case manager, that two of the firm's attorneys previously worked in insurance defense, and that other lawyers send the firm trucking cases that need to be tried.[2]
See: Morgan E. Lyndall; Collin Summerlin
The firm states that it takes truck cases on a contingency fee, a percentage of any recovery agreed in writing, that court costs and case expenses are handled separately under the written fee agreement, and that the first consultation is free.[2]
